Farewell Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge is here to stay

Microsoft is finally retiring Internet Explorer on June 15, 2022, after more than 25 years.  Businesses and organizations are encouraged to move to Microsoft Edge with IE mode. IE mode will remain available for legacy websites until 2029. This is a historical moment for both the tech community and the business world.  Internet Explorer will officially be obsolete – another nostalgic tech tool of the past.  Whether we say farewell with apathy or enthusiasm, we must not overlook the newest legend in-the-making: Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft Edge is everything the newer generation of end users want in a browser, while still maintaining the security and privacy settings that businesses need.  Collaborative features via Microsoft 365 integration help employees maintain self-reliance and independence, which is an expectation of any tool for today’s hybrid workers. Microsoft's mission of enabling people and businesses throughout the world to realize their full technical adoption potential extends to everyone, regardless of their digital generation or ability. Designed with security in mind, it boasts the highest-rated protection against phishing scams and malware, setting IT professionals and end users, alike, at ease. True to its company mission, Microsoft Edge is the browser “that puts you first”.  Its innovative interface and collaborative features help you stay organized, save time, and protect your online data and identity.

  • Access Microsoft apps and files quickly by simply opening a new tab to view or search for recent files
  • Keep your projects organized by saving tabs—even those for Microsoft 365 files—to a collection
  • Limit sites that track you with tracking prevention
