Three key takeaways from our “A platform approach to productivity” event

As the future state of hybrid work becomes reality, businesses should invest in more permanent, durable tools and solutions to power flexible work.

As mentioned in a previous blog, Microsoft is positioning Teams to be the meetings platform designed for modern work , as 80% of leaders say they expect to provide remote and in-office options for their employees.

To share more about how Teams will power enterprises and their employees from anywhere, Vitalyst was pleased to host David Totten, Mircosoft’s Chief Technology Officer for the U.S. Partner Ecosystem, for this event “The future of teamwork: A platform approach to productivity." Keep reading for three key takeaways from the event!

The pandemic highlighted timeless business needs

Watercooler conversations. Company lunches. Live events. Those are just a few of the things we have all been longing for, as they all provide us with the opportunity to connect with customers and coworkers in person. David spent a bit of time pointing out that there are other, less obvious businesses demands that have been revealed because of the pandemic. A few of these include the need for:

  • Training and knowledge to perform.
  • The right tools to create output.
  • Motivation and engagement.
  • Health and wellbeing.

Companies have had to figure out how to provide these and other requirements for their employees, virtually. Now, the challenge is to find a solution that will support the workforce at home and in-person.

The ‘new digital workforce’

David’s next point was no matter where we will be working from next, one thing is for certain—we will forever be a digital workforce. Again, this is a call to action for enterprises to provide the tools, like Teams, that will support all employees, no matter their proximity to the office or their proficiency. The digital workforce, and the technology they rely on, will:

  • Include everyone in digital transformation.
  • Ensure a trusted, secure, modern experience for every employee.
  • Help people learn, reinvent, and grow with the pace of change.
  •  Unlock the knowledge, insights, and expertise of the entire organization.

Teams close integration with Microsoft’s toolset, intuitive, user friendly design, and it’s powerful features and capabilities make it the ideal application to support these goals of the digital workforce.

Teams is the tool. Adaptive Learning is the resource.

David shared that in the fall of last year, 30 billion collaboration minutes were generated in a single day using Microsoft’s suite of applications (including Teams). And during the peak of the pandemic, Microsoft saw 115 million people turn to Teams to collaborate, communicate, and connect. It is clear the application has established itself as the platform for getting work done, from anywhere. But employees must have the proper tools to ensure they are getting the most out of technology—like Adaptive Learning from Vitalyst.

David says of Vitalyst and Adaptive Learning, “If it [weren’t] for partners like Vitalyst to drive how you, the end customer, consumes our technology and makes it real, its just a bunch of marketing slides…a partner like Vitalyst is really the last mile execution and [provides] the subject matter expertise that companies like us at Microsoft rely on to get the value to you.”

The Adaptive Learning Platform, accessed through the Learn Now app in Teams, provides business with unlimited access to enterprise-class Office 365 training services, like one-on-one software coaching, live webinars, self-guided videos and more. With Adaptive Learning and Microsoft Teams, organizations can ensure their employees are building the skills for the future of modern, digital, and flexible work.
